In accordance with Center for Disease Control recommendations the AVAC office will be closed until further notice. Anyone needing assistance can call 724-226-0606 and we will do our best to help.
The Food Bank will be open each Wednesday from1:30-5:00 pm and will operate outside the building. All food will be pre-bagged for everyone’s protection. Sign-ups are required but you do not need to bring proof of income.
Please Join Us for Our Annual Service to Honor the Memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Our annual service to honor the legend of Dr. King will be held on January 31, 2021 and will be virtual this year due to the pandemic. Like our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/avaoc to follow on updates and join the service. Our speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Felicia Brock, Pastor of The First Baptist Church Tarentum. All funds received through the free-will offering will benefits economically disadvantaged high school seniors through the scholarship fund AVAC operates in Dr. King’s name.
The service begins at 3:00 and everyone is welcome!
CARES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE
Have you, or someone you know, been financially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic? Have you lost your job, had your hours or pay cut, or any situation that caused your family to lose income because of the virus? AVAC has received funding from the Allegheny County Department of Human Services, Office of Community Services, CARES Act funding through a Community Services Block Grant. All applicants must live in Allegheny County, outside of the city of Pittsburgh.
Assistance may be able to help with rent or mortgage payments, utility assistance, household repairs, transportation, medical care and more. Please contact our assistance coordinator, Beth Kendra, at 724-226-0606 x10 or at beth@avaoc.org for more information and to apply for help.

In place of our normal Produce to People Distribution a mass drive through food distribution will be held on:

Rear Parking Lot near Dick’s Sporting Goods
This is a drive through distribution. Please register in advance at:
